Cal Poly Homecoming book signing events a big success

San Luis Obispo, Nov. 12, 2007 - -  The Alumni on a Journey team took its marketing efforts directly to the Cal Poly campus for Homecoming Nov. 9-11 and met with resounding success, selling a total of 20 books at the discounted price of $50 each. Alumni on a Journey team co-leader Ellen Pensky earned high praise for her efforts as she produced signs and flyers promoting the book signing event at the Saturday tailgate party as well as Sunday's promotional event at the downtown El Corral store. Helping out at the events were alums Frances Squire and  Rebecca Alarcio along with Pensky's long-time friend Karla Keller. "What a fun weekend we had," says Ellen. " We sold some books, remembered some fun times, sold some books, exchanged more memories, sold some books and remembered more old times. Thanks to Frances, Rebecca and Karla for helping to create demand and to Bob and Jim for hanging in there.  I know we created lots of attention.  Next up on the schedule is one more book signing before the holidays.
